Resume Writing Service

For job seekers on a very tight budget, the siren song here is bargain basement pricing and the same low price regardless of experience level. To further tempt, the company guarantees you'll get a job interview within 30 days or they'll rewrite your resume at no additional charge.

Unfortunately, there are problems aplenty with this company. Foremost among them, writing quality. Admittedly, this is a common and practically expected downside with many if not most budget resume services. In the case of 1-on-1-Resumes.com, $109.95 isn't going to buy the same quality of workmanship as say, the $249 you'll spend with companies that garnered our 5-star rating. That's evident in the resume samples posted on 1-on-1's website.

There are other troubling issues with the company, as well (see what we didn't like, below)...

Here's How It Works
1.	On the home page, click the link marked "Click Here To Have Us Write Your Resume!" Send along your existing resume, if you have one, and complete an online form/questionnaire. Fill it out thoroughly, because at these prices, you won't be getting a telephone interview from your assigned writer. If the need arises, you can communicate with your writer, and vice versa, but only through a messaging system.
2.	Your finished resume will be sent within 2-3 business days via email in Microsoft Word format. Contact your writer if you need to make any changes or corrections.
3.	The company claims to guarantee a job interview within 30 days. If that doesn't happen, they'll rewrite the resume at no charge.
Here's What We Like
	Not much.
	An interview is supposedly guaranteed within 30 days, or they will re-work and rewrite your resume. But note: at another place on their site, fixing "imperfections" is all that's promised.
Here's What We Don't Like
	We had questions. Initially, our emails went into a black hole and nobody answered the phone. We waited to see if somebody would return our call; after three weeks, nothing. A few months later, we tried again. Nothing. It took months upon months, but we finally connected with a writer and the company president. In fairness, once we had the attention of the president, our questions were addressed promptly. And that president assured us that they have put in place "a dedicated client services and management team and answer all inbound calls during business hours--and return others promptly."
	We were not impressed with the resume samples. Too often, graphic design took center stage over the writing, poor choices in font colors made that writing hard to read, and grammatical errors populated what should be pristine examples of their craftsmanship.
	Some of their advertising claims border on the deceptive. For example, they state: "Rated the #1 resume writing site in the Azoos network 3 years in a row!" What they don't tell you is that "Azoos" is their parent company. The "network" consists of this company, plus two additional Azoos-owned resume services. We've seen political ads with more integrity.
	Finally, let's talk Better Business Bureau. Having previously given the company an "A" rating, the BBB dropped that to "C-" and subsequently to an "F." In addition, they revoked BBB accreditation from the company for failure to comply with agreed BBB standards. As of March 2017, the company holds a rating of A with the BBB. Count me as skeptical that the rating holds for long.
1-on-1-resumes.com Review - The Wrap Up
For those on a tight budget, the temptation is strong to turn one's resume project over to a company that promises professional results for around a hundred bucks. Resist the temptation. The truth is that the writing quality here is simply not up to par with the services we rate 3, 4 and 5 stars. And although 1-on-1-Resumes.com's president assures that a turnaround is underway, spotty customer service and a history of complaints continue to taint this company. Our recommendation is to AVOID this company for the time being. As with all of our reviews, this is our opinion--we always advise readers to do their own due diligence.
