1950s as a springboard for nationally televised country music
programs, Springfield sits in the southeast part of Missouri.
Its nearly 160,000 residents form the Greene County seat and are
part of a nearly half-million-populated, wider metropolitan
area. The city is known for intense Civil War battles, a Wild
Bill Hickok quick draw shootout, and a noted varied
temperature climate.
The city has lots of parks and is home for the highly regarded
Missouri State College and Drury University. There are several
religious schools including the Assemblies of God Theological
seminary and Evangel University. Major employees include St. John
Hospital and Medical Center, CoxHealth and WalMart.
