Located near the
Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, Plano, Texas is the ninth
largest city in the state. Also known as P-Town, Gymnastic
Capital of the World or Plain-O, the city boasts wealthy
residents, highly rated public schools and numerous white collar
employment opportunities.
Almost thirty major corporations have P-Town headquarters or major
offices, including Rent-A-Center, Frito-Lay, Siemens, Dr Pepper,
Capital One and Yum! Restaurants. Unlike many other cities, nine of
the top ten employers in the area are private companies, not
government or educational facilities.
Plain-O’s well-paying jobs and strong economy generate high
property tax revenue, allowing the city’s schools to be some of the
best in the nation. Several high schools were ranked on Newsweek’s
2012 national school rankings.
P-Town is served by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system, which
offers light rail transport across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Few
residents use public transport, but DART provides easy access into
the big city when necessary.
For those with corporate or executive experience, Plano offers
beautiful homes, wonderful schools and a rich cultural
environment.
