About... Lexington,
Kentucky is the second-largest city in the state and is home to
a vast array of job opportunities. Its economy is fueled by
companies in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing,
education, and business.
As a landlocked city during the 1800s, Lexington was forced to
innovate to distinguish itself. Long before many other modern
cities, Lexington had a police force, electric street lights,
modern plumbing, and sidewalks. This southern city, the
63rd-largest in the United States, is no stranger to industry. It
is the nation's largest producer of burley tobacco, and is also a
mainstay of the state's thoroughbred horse industry.
However, jobs in agriculture are far from the only opportunity
here. The University of Kentucky offers an array of job
opportunities in education, including teaching and administrative
support. Job seekers in the medical field will benefit from the
Veteran's Affairs medical center and the Saint Joseph health
system. This city is also home to many industrial concerns,
including the Lexmark company, Amazon, and UPS. Even GE has an
outpost here.
Thanks to its many industries, Lexington, Kentucky is the ideal
destination for job seekers of any background.
