About... The popular song
of the 1940s, Chattanooga Choo Choo, still serves as a reminder
of this city's reliance on the railroad industry. Known as the
“Scenic City” and located on the southern border of Tennessee,
it is still an important regional railroad terminus and serves
the entire areas known as the Deep South.
In more recent times, Chattanooga has diversified its economy to
include many manufacturing and service companies. Notable examples
are a major Coca Cola bottling plant, an Amazon.com regional
facility and the $1B assembly plant for Volkswagen Group of
America. The city has also embraced technology and was the first
one to provide public access to the Internet at speeds of one
gigabit per second.
Chattanooga is also home to a wide variety of museums and other
cultural attractions including a symphony orchestra, a zoo and
aquarium and the Tennessee river walk. Almost 200,000 people live
and work in a city described by Forbes magazine as having the best
"Bang For Your Buck."
Chattanooga is beloved by tourists and residents alike. It offers a
big city, pro-business climate while maintaining the down home,
historical feel of a small southern town. It is ideal for business
people, their employees and their families.
